Welcome to the regional programme! In this section you will find out more about social marketing in each of the ten English regions.
What is the regional programme?
In 2008, the Department of Health funded ten regional managers to deliver a programme to help build social marketing capacity and capability at a local level. The programme is coordinated by Marie Meredith, the Director of Regional & Local NHS Development at the NSMC.
In the last 12 months the regional managers have:
- Undertaken a review to establish the capacity and capability to embed social marketing at a local level within the NHS
- Collated its findings into a national report which can be read here.
- Created a development and support package unique to each region (based on their wants and needs) which includes a comprehensive training programme that will take NHS professional from novice social marketers to practitioners
- Set up a partnership project in every region which will aim to be a beacon of excellence in both partnership working and social marketing
- Built relationships and partnerships with the regional and local NHS and its partners
- Assisted the development of social marketing at a local, regional and national level
